FRAN’S (DECAF) LEBKUCHEN LATTE
Our super Sales & Account Manager Fran grew up in the Schwarzwald of Southern Germany, and tells us that cottages in the forest look like little gingerbread houses. This is a nice coincidence, as this rural region is the Land of Lebkuchen - a spiced cookie with a long and rich tradition.
As a twist on traditional pumpkin-spiced coffee for Halloween, her Lebkuchen Latte recipe is perfect for a chilly autumn day. And the best thing? It even tastes great using our Natural Decaf Espresso, meaning you can enjoy this delicious drink any time of the day or night!
INGREDIENTS
Natural Decaf Espresso (or Americas House Espresso for an extra caffeine kick)
200ml milk - dairy or alternative, particularly almond or hazelnut
Half a teaspoon of Lebkuchen/gingerbread spice mix (Fran loves Steenbergs) - a blend of cinnamon, cloves, ginger, pimento, coriander, cardamom, nutmeg, organic ground mace powder - so if you are feeling adventurous why not make your own!
Optional: Muscovado Sugar for that rich molasses sweetness
RECIPE
Firstly, put the spice mix into your favourite mug.
Add a double shot of our Natural Decaf Espresso (no espresso machine? Try our Condensed Aeropress Recipe, or use any strong coffee)
Steam or simply heat up your choice of milk and pour in.
Add muscovado to taste. That’s it!
