The SCA Green Coffee Foundation course is designed to introduce basic concepts regarding the consuming side of green coffee.
You will learn about the specialty coffee supply chain from seed to cup including cultivation, harvesting, processing, drying, shipping, storage, and delivery.
The values of coffee growing, processing, grading, and trade management are also studied.
This course is designed anyone with an interest in green coffee and the supply chain, with no previous experience needed.

Whether you’re new to the industry or looking to broaden your knowledge, this course offers a welcoming introduction to the world of green coffee.
Together, we’ll explore how coffee is grown, harvested, and processed, and why each step plays such a vital role in flavour and quality. You’ll learn about sourcing, grading, defects, and the basics of storage and transport all explained in a clear, approachable way.
No previous experience is needed, just a genuine interest in coffee and its origins. It’s a great first step for anyone working in roasting, barista roles, buying, or simply wanting to deepen their appreciation of coffee from the ground up.
