KENYA NGOE AB
Bright and juicy with notes of red berry and citrus, our Kenya Single Origin showcases the vibrant fruitiness and complex acidity that define the very best Kenyan coffees.
Profile and Partnership
Bright citrus and juicy red berries, with a smooth, winey finish.
This is the coffee that started it all.
Before setting up Chimney Fire, Dan worked on Ngoe Farm in Kenya as part of his journey in coffee and cocoa traceability. It was there that he met farm owner Dr Helen Gichohi and was inspired by her vision for a farm built around sustainability, self-sufficiency and long-term stewardship.
Eight years later, we’re proud to share this directly sourced coffee from Ngoe Farm - a true reflection of Chimney Fire’s roots.
ABOUT NGOE
Ngoe Farm sits on the border of Murang’a and Nyeri counties in Kenya and is home to around 11,000 Arabica trees, primarily SL28 and Ruiru 11, alongside newer plantings of Batian.
The farm benefits from its own wet mill, year-round water access and a dedicated team working to restore and improve production following a period of neglect. Coffee is grown alongside pepper, fruit, vegetables and livestock, creating a diverse and resilient farming system.
Around 30% of the farm has been replanted with Batian, a naturally disease-resistant variety that helps support future productivity while reducing reliance on chemical inputs. Drawing on her experience supporting coffee-growing communities through the African Wildlife Foundation, Helen is committed to improving quality while preserving the legacy of the farm's former owner.
