KENYA NGOE AB
Bright and juicy with notes of red berry and citrus, our Kenya Single Origin showcases the vibrant fruitiness and complex acidity that define the very best Kenyan coffees.
EIGHT YEARS IN THE MAKING
Bright citrus and juicy red berries with a smooth, winey finish - this is the coffee that started it all.
Before setting up Chimney Fire, Dan worked on Ngoe Farm in Kenya as part of his journey in coffee and cocoa traceability. Dan was inspired by farm owner Dr. Helen Gichohi’s vision, discovering a farm truly committed to sustainability and self-sufficiency.
After eight years of collaboration, we’re proud to share this directly sourced coffee - a true reflection of our roots.
We think all of our coffees taste great no matter how you prepare them. Check out our Brew Guides for suggested recipes, top tips, and more.
WHAT MAKES NGOE FARM SPECIAL?
Self-sufficient ecosystem – Coffee grows alongside pepper, fruit, vegetables, and livestock, creating a balanced and resilient farm.
Sustainable practices – With 30% of the farm replanted to the naturally disease-resistant Batian variety, Helen champions organic methods that protect both soil and future harvests.
As direct as it comes – Sourced straight from Ngoe Farm, reflecting a long-standing partnership built on transparency, trust, and a shared passion for sustainable coffee.
High-quality and delicious - bright citrus, juicy red berry notes, and a smooth, wine-like finish.
Ngoe Farm, on the border of Muranga and Nyeri counties, is home to around 11,000 Arabica trees, mostly traditional SL28 and Ruiru 11, with some newer Batian planted. The farm has its own wet mill, year-round water access, and a dedicated team who are steadily rehabilitating it after a period of neglect. Drawing on her background in supporting coffee farmers through the African Wildlife Foundation, Helen is committed to honouring the legacy of the farm’s former owner while driving quality and production forward – and we’re proud to share in that journey.
