“From a humble seedling to the global phenomenon it is today, Dan conducted an outstanding session with our group. A highly recommended experience indeed.”

The Bean to Cup Coffee Experience
After an introductory cup of coffee and roastery tour, we’ll look at green beans and explore how varietals, altitude, and processing methods affect the coffee flavour profile. Next, guests will roast a sample batch and discover how we create different profiles for the perfect espresso or filter roast. Then it’s time to “cup” the coffees side-by-side with an aroma kit to help guests identify unique flavours and find their coffee taste preference.
What we’ll provide
The tour will take place in our characterful coffee roastery, based in a converted stables behind a manor house in the Surrey Hills. A minimum of four coffees will be brewed via different methods throughout the tour, and a small snack will be provided to soak up the caffeine! Each guests will leave with a bag of their favourite coffee. Warm clothing is advisable.
About the host
After completing a masters in Sustainable Development, Dan spent several years working in ethical and traceable coffee and cocoa sourcing from his base in Ghana. There he gained experience in various farming practices, quality processes, and handling of certified coffee and began to work with producers to identify high grade speciality coffee with unique flavour profiles. During this period Dan also continued home-roasting and completed SCAE sensory courses. In late 2016, he launched Chimney Fire Coffee.
